How big of a generator would i need to run a/c in put 3.1 kw rated current of 14.1 amps

For most AC units you want to go with a generator that can provide up to 1,600 watts running for only running an AC unit like what you mentioned. The A-iPower 5,000-Watt Portable Generator # 289-AP5000 would easily cover that and have wattage to spare for running other accessories at same time so it would work great for you.
