Question:

Will this, or some other plug, plug into original plug wiring clip? The original was smashed by son. All that is left is 7 prongs. I want to replace with original type without having to cut or spice. Thanks for your time.

As long as the corresponding socket located behind the bumper is still intact, the Tow Ready # 20135 will replace the damaged 7-way trailer connector.

You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the existing connector to ensure it is still functional.
This is done by activating the lighting circuits (headlight, taillight and turn signal) and testing the pins and making sure they light the tester.

Can I buy the plug that you have shown as the OEM socket behind the rear bumper? I think the original question here was about someone trying to buy that socket as well.

The OEM socket (as pictured above) is a factory part from Ram. Unfortunately we don't have this available, but you should be able to get it directly through a Ram dealer.
