How to Remove the Hinge Pin to Replace the Roof Vent Cover of a Jensen Roof Vent

Question:
What would be the best way to remove the hinge pin from the old cover? It has been on there since 1991 and has white roof sealer on it in places. The cover is extreamly deteriorated and is brittle. Not leaking yet. Does the new cover come with a new hinge pin ?

I spoke to my contact at Ventmate and he informed me that to remove the hinge pin from your old cover you will need to remove the screws from the ends of the hinge pin and then you will be able to slide the pin out.
A replacement pin does not come with the Vent Cover for Jensen Roof Vents # 61628. You should be able to reuse the old one that is on your vent now.
