Troubleshooting A Dometic RV Refrigerator That Isn't Cooling

Typically when a fridge does not cool it's normally just a frozen or clogged drain tube. You can unplug the fridge and leave the doors open to ensure the fridge is fully thawed out. The you can remove the the back of your fridge to get to drain tube and can clean it out using a long pipe cleaner.

Another typical cause is a bad compressor or Freon leak. You can have a certified technician take a look at your compressor and checking the Freon level.

You could also have a malfunctioning thermostat which you would need to contact Dometic directly for a replacement.

One last thing to check is the power running to your fridge. The 2852 can run off of 110 V AC or LP Gas so check the levels running to the unit to ensure it is meeting the minimum requirements to properly function.

If you've tried all of these troubleshooting steps and can not get it to cool then you will most likely need to replace it with another fridge like the Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer - 10.7 Cu Ft - 12V - Stainless Steel # 324-000119.
