Question:

I just installed the controller on my 2013 jeep . i press on the brake and i get an R in the display . any idea.

The r that you see is indicating you are in reverse mode. The only way to go into reverse mode is to hold the boost button in. The boost button has been known to get stuck, partially wedged under the outer casing of the controller. All you need to do is unstick the boost button and it should work just fine.
