Can Command Electronics DG61024UP Charging Station Replace 1/4 Inch Bunk Lamp Jack
Published 11/19/2021 >
Question:
Hi My pop up has a 1/4 inch socket for a RV fan. Same as the Optronics RVC100. May you please advise if this DG61024UP can be used to replace the RBC 100? RVC100 has black positive and white for ground wires. The DV61024UP has red and black. Not sure if I need to change wiring in my pop up or how to install this. Hoping you can advise. Thanks

Theoretically, the # DG61024VP charging station could replace a bunk light jack like the discontinued Optronics RVC100, but the bunk fan/light that would typically be used with that jack would have an amperage draw of 1.3A, while the # DG61024VP charging station is capable of drawing 2.1A per USB port and up to 20A on the 12V socket.
So, the power delivered to the charging station would be limited by the wire gauge feeding the outlets. You'd want to use wire no smaller than 12 gauge connecting the charging station to the house battery. How the charging station would be wired will depend on how the current circuit is wired.
