Initial Set-Up of Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller on 2009 Toyota Tacoma
Updated 06/21/2013 | Published 06/20/2013 >
Question:
The video and written instructions seem to be different. The video talks about adjusting using the level knob then the power knob. The written instructions say adjust using the power knob to achieve maximum braking then fine tuning using the level knob. Am I understanding this correctly, which is the correct way. Thank you very much. 2009 Toyota Tacoma Double cab V6

When setting the controller up for the first time, it is best to follow the guidelines as laid out in the instructions. Begin by installing the controller in a level position (side to side) and in the proper operating angle range between 70 degrees nose up and -20 degrees nose down. Make sure the controller is parallel to the direction of travel. Then level the sensor and perform some test drives at slow speeds to adjust the level of power sent to the trailer brakes. As a final step, you will do some final fine-tuning of the level setting.
