Does Gen-Y Cushioned Pin Box Fit Grand Design Momentum 351

Updated 11/09/2021 | Published 11/05/2021

Question:

I would like to purchase a Gen-Y 5,500 pin weight 30,000. Not sure or how to tell the kind I need. It is on a 351 Momentum Grand design. It is 26 from rear bolt holes to pin. Also need to know if this will work on an auto slide and witch auto slide do you recommend.

From previous customers we've determined that the 351 Momentum Grand Design fifth wheel you have has a Lippert 1621 pin box so the Gen-Y cushioned pin box part # GY46FR that you referenced does fit.

This can be used with auto slide fifth wheel hitches like the 21k Demco Hijacker part # DM8550038 which would be an excellent option.

I also need to know if the 21k Demco Hijacker part # DM8550038 is going to stick up to high above the side rails because I have a cover I use when not hauling.

I assume, that by "cover" you mean something like a tonneau cover that sits near level with the the tops of the bed rails. The height of the hitch from the bed of the truck is 15-1/2 inches in low position, 16-3/4 inches in mid position, and 18-1/4 inches in the high position. Which position you bolt it into depends on what you have to do to tow with your trailer level. Keep in mind that taking the head off of the top of the hitch is an option, albeit an onerous option.
