Will The Draw-Tite Hitch 75073 Fit My 1991 Dodge Dakota With A New Westin Bumper

Published 10/21/2021

Question:

Is drilling going to be required? I am installing a new bumper at the same time. It is a Westin 64000 with new mounting brackets. Just checking for fitment. Other recommendations for this install? Ordering th trailer lighting kit recommended as well for that truck.

Though there will be no issues installing the Draw-Tite # 75073 hitch with your new bumper, there may still be drilling required for the installation. This will go for all the hitches we have available for your 1991 Dodge Dakota as well. With that being said, I couldn't find a bumper when referencing the 64000 part number, so I will mention that this does not fit vehicles with factory or aftermarket lower rear fascia or with a roll-pan or tube bumper. If you meant the Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear Bumper # 63000 and the # 97800 bracket kit, then you are good to go.

The recommended wiring harness looks to be the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat # C55317 and this would have been my recommendation as well. This is a quick and easy plug and play harness and will take absolutely no time to get up and running.
