Question:
Do I need to put an in line fuse between the battery and the converter unit? Or is that what the 30amp fuse for already installed in the unit?

There is no need to install an inline fuse between the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 35 Amp item # PD4135K. The system includes a number of safety features. It has a reverse polarity protection that will protect the converter if the battery is hooked up incorrectly. Additionally, the unit includes protection for overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent, which can damage your equipment, as well as the converter. That fuse is for the 5 branch circuits rated at 30 amps. I have linked the installation diagram and instructions for connecting the converter to your battey.
