Can hitch be reversed to level out trailers higher than normal ?

The Reese/ProSeries # RP63971 weight distribution shank can be used in the drop position only, so if you're looking for a shank that would provide a rise, it wouldn't be a good choice for you.
Instead, I'd recommend the Reese # RP54970, which provides a rise up to 6-1/2 inches when used with a trunnion bar system or 5-1/4 inches with a round bar. If you needed a taller rise, the # RP54998 provides a rise up to 8-5/8 when used with a trunnion bar system or 7-3/8 inches if used with a round bar.
