The trailer wiring functions of your 2006 Ram 3500 are controlled by the truck's TIPM which unfortunately can only be reset by a Ram dealer. The only solution we can help with would be to bypass the factory wiring of the truck and install an aftermarket setup that wires to the truck's wiring like with the # HM48925.

If I install this on my truck will it transfer the potential problem from my unprotected trailer circuit to the turn signal circuit of the truck resulting in a burned up tipm or does it have circuit protection?
