Question:
The 4063 fit kit from Thule is suppose to fit the 2017 Subaru Outback. not touring. The car has those good for nothing built in crossbars. If I use the 4063 do I first remove the existing rails and rack? I’m not quite understanding how these work.

The Thule roof racks that fit your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon with the stowable crossbars that use the fit kit # THKIT4063 fits to the rack itself and does not require removing the rails. I checked the install instructions and the fit kit attaches to the top of the flush rails on either side of the bar that swings out. You can see more info on this in the attached install instructions link.
The other parts needed are # TH711200 and # TH460R.
