Im looking to put a fifth wheel hitch on my 2017 GMC Denali 1500 with magnum traction and a five and a half foot short box. I keep hearing that there isnt any units that are capable of installing in my truck.

Since your 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with MagneRide suspension has a 5-1/2' bed you'll have to use a sidewinder pin box to help prevent the nose of your 5th wheel from coming into contact with the cab of your truck. Pin boxes have specific bolt patterns so you'll have to know what model pin box your 5th wheel currently has on it. For example, the Reese # RP34FR will fit a Lippert 1621 pin box bolt pattern.

Because of your MagneRide suspension there is only one option for the rails and brackets for your 5th wheel hitch. You'll need the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWRVK2503 for the rails and will have to contact B&W and special order the brackets. The brackets have already been designed but since they are such a niche product B&W only makes them to order.

From there you'll need the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3200. The dual jaw on this 5th-wheel hitch offers a secure connection with 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. The durable polyurethane bushings limit rattle and vibration. The base adjusts for ideal vertical and fore/aft positioning and fully articulating head eases hookup and helps to limit chucking.

Since you'll be using a sidewinder pin box you will also need a wedge kit to prevent the king pin from pivoting in the jaws of your hitch. The correct wedge for your # BWRVK3200 is the 5th Airborne Custom Wedge for B&W Fifth Wheels # SWW-06. This wedge will bolt to the sidewinder pin box and lock your king pin in place in the jaws of your hitch.
