I wanted to see if the surco safari basket will work for a 2011 Land Rover LR4? If so, curious to what size would be a proper fit... 72? 80? Also if it does fit, does it require adapters and if so, which ones? Thank you,

Surco does not have a roof basket that can easily attach to your 2011 Land Rover LR4 so I do not recommend going with a Surco basket. Instead, I would look into a platform rack that can attach to your roof without needing to install crossbars. The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack with Backbone Mounting System - 84" Long x 56" Wide # RR28AB would fit regardless if your roof is naked or if it has factory roof tracks.
You can then add various accessories to the basket, such as the Ladder # RRRAFL.
