Has this hitch: 36650 actually been verified to fit a 2021 Tiguan SE 4 Motion which does not have the existing bolts and weld nuts? There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason for the changes Volkswagen makes.

It is odd that some of the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan models don't have the weldnuts built into the frame but we do have a solution.
I recommend completely avoiding this with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # SH49ZR. This custom fit hitch uses a different installation process so the lack of weldnuts will not be an issue. The Stealth Hitch replaces the factory reinforcement beam on the back of your vehicle.
The hitch has a tongue weight of 350 lbs and is only for hitch mounted accessories. If you need to do some towing you will have to also purchase the Stealth Hitches towing kit # SH82VR which would allow you to tow up to 3,500 lbs.
