Question:
I HAVE 2003 TAHOE-THE LICENSE PLATE IS ABOUT 6inch FROM THE OUTER EDGE OF THE STEEL BUMPER-IS THIS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM?

The steel bumper on your 2003 Chevy Tahoe may make the sensors on the Hopkins Backup Sensor System, # HM60100VA, go off but if this happens all you will need to do is adjust the sensors so it does not give you a false alert. Some customers have also used spacers to mount the unit out a little further so the sensors will clear an obstruction.
