The license plate mounting holes of the # 8802 are 7 inches apart on center, while the holes for mounting the plate holder to the vehicle or trailer are 7-1/2 inches apart. The holder IS compatible with a standard license plate.

I'll provide a photo showing those dimensions.

We also offer a hardware kit for attaching the plate to the holder, part # CR80230. The anchors snap into the square holes of the # 8802 to provide a threaded nut to accept the 1/4 inch screws included in the kit.
