Solution for Needing Blue Ox Breakaway Switch Replacement for BX88181

Question:
I know the BX88179 is no longer manufactured. However, I need a BX88181 Breakaway switch. Can the breakaway switch for a Patriot system be used in place? I know the connector to the brake unit is different and would have to be modified but are the signals the same such that it can be used?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox breakaway switch BX88181 is no longer available but it was basically just a standard breakaway switch so you could use the part # 420000 in place of it very easily. It functions the exact same and would wire in the exact same way as well.
