We do offer a front mount hitch for the 2005 Chevy Avalanche 1500. Curt confirms that their # 31302 front mounted receiver is a fit for the 2005 Avalanche 1500. I've linked an install video and the instructions for you to look over to see if it's something you'd feel comfortable tackling yourself. Curt tells me that a trained professional installer should be able to complete the install in about an hour, and it would take a typical do-it-yourselfer about twice that.
