Question:
Do you have Wiring diagram for CR-007? Im going to wire it to a car without trailer hitchwiring. I would like to connect CR-007 with the wiring from the rear car stop/tail light. Can I do it that way? I do not want to connect it with turn signal light. Thanks

Pilot does not offer a wiring diagram for the Brake and Tail Light Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover, # CR-007, but the wiring is pretty simple. The hitch cover has a 4-way flat connector that was designed to work with typical 2-wire systems, meaning the brake light and turn signals are combined on the same circuit.
You could wire this hitch cover directly to your vehicles tail light circuits, but I do not recommend doing this. To hardwire this hitch cover to your vehicle, you would have to cut off the 4-way flat connector and run each wire to your vehicles tail light circuit. This will void the warranty on the hitch cover and the hitch cover would have to hang under the vehicle when you are using the hitch.
Instead, I recommend buying the 4-Pole Hardwire Kit, # 18252. The 4-flat connector on this harness will connect to the 4-flat connector from the hitch cover and you could just splice this harness into your vehicles tail light circuits. This would not void the warranty on the hitch cover. The brown wire from this harness will connect to a running light circuit, the green wire to the right stop/turn circuit and the yellow wire to the left stop/turn circuit. The white wire should be grounded to a clean, bare metal surface or to an existing ground stud.
This wiring harness was designed for vehicles with 2-wire systems. You can tell if your vehicle has a 2-wire or 3-wire systems based on the tail lights. Vehicles with a 3-wire setup will have an amber turn signal on their tail lights. Vehicles with a 2-wire setup use the same bulb for the brake lights and turn signals. If your vehicle has a 3-wire setup, then I recommend installing a wiring harness that combines the brake light and turn signal like the Tow Ready Tail Light Converter Wiring Harness, # 119178KIT. I have included the installation instructions for this wiring harness for you to check out.
