Roof Rack For 2014 Ford Escape For Carrying Kayaks

I have a 2014 Ford Escape with a naked roof. The roof had the existing tracks but no side rails. Is there a way I can put a cross bars rack on the vehicle without buying $600 side rails? I am trying to haul 2 8ft kayaks
