I have a 2014 Ford Escape with a naked roof. The roof had the existing tracks but no side rails. Is there a way I can put a cross bars rack on the vehicle without buying $600 side rails? I am trying to haul 2 8ft kayaks

Since your 2014 Ford Escape has a naked roof, you can simply add a roof rack system that clamps onto your door jambs, so you don't need to spend the extra $600 to get additional side rails.
