my hitch has two holes for the pin . on e extends the hitch , is it ok to use it

Most hitches that have 2 holes in the receiver will be made by Draw-Tite. Typically, one will also be larger than the other, usually the one closer to the frame of the vehicle. They design them this way so you can utilize one of their locking pins, like the # 63201. This will use both holes on one of these hitches and will not only lock the ball mount or accessory in place, it will also apply pressure to it and keep it from moving around.
With all that being said, if the second hole is smaller than the other, you should not use it to extend the ball mount or accessory.
