Is There Hole on Back of LaSalle Bristol Utopia RV Bathroom Faucet

Question:
Why is there a hole in back of this faucet? There isn’t a plug in case you don’t need it. I’m afraid water will get into back and trickle down to cabinet

On the back of the LaSallet Bristol Faucet part # 344273500913BNAF that you referenced there is what looks like a cut out section but that does not go all the way through to the inner pipe where the water is. It would not leak water out of that section nor would you need to plug it.
