Question:
Hi- I have a chevrolet malibu 2010 that I just installed a 1.25inch hitch bar on purchased from you. I also bought the 1.25 to 2inch adapter but its too low. I need to adapt from 1.25inch to 2inch and raise a a few inches, but the ones Im seeing dont look like they give enough extension before the rise for my malibu. Can someone help me figure out? Thanks

My recommendation is to have a custom adapter made for the height and length that you need on your 2010 Chevrolet Malibu with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36479. The center of the hitch pin is about 8-1/2" from your rear bumper. Any adapter that goes from a 1-1/4" receiver to a 2" receiver will reduce the weight capacity of the vehicles receiver by 50%. Be sure to verify your vehicle and hitch ratings to determine if you will have enough capacity for what you intend to haul.
The Gen-Y Weld-On 2" Receiver Tube # 325-GH-002 can be welded to the top of the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45015 to give you a hitch adapter similar to what you are looking for. To do this I recommend having it professionally welded and gussets added for additional strength.
