Hi! I recently purchased a Bulldog A-Frame Trailer Coupler and had it welded on my Sundowner horse trailer. The welds are starting to rust already so I need to paint it soon. The paint on the old hitch seemed to have a texture to it, not just a flat paint. Do you have any recommendations as to what kind of paint I should use? Thanks for your help.

You can use virtually any paint that is rated for use on steel and outdoor use for the Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler # BD028499
The most important part is going to be the prep. You will want to use a light sandpaper or SOS type pad to scuff the area intended for paint. Make sure to get all the rust off. A oil and grease Cleaner # 34910965 will ensure that the surface is free of any chemicals and the paint will adhere properly. You should apply painters tape over any areas such as the decals that you do not want to paint.
