What is Towing Capacity of 2016 Ram 2500 Diesel Long Bed Crew Cab

Question:
looking at buying a new new truck, which will need a new hitch i plan to buy here. I want to verify the towing capacity of the vehicle. 2016 dodge ram crew cab, long bed, 2 wheel drive, 6.7 diesel, with a 3.73 rear end tradesman. I cannot find that specific rear end ratio listed anywhere on the internet. do you know the max 5th wheel towing capacity for that truck?

I believe you may have the gear ratio incorrect for your 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. I found the Ram truck towing guide for the 2016 trucks and the diesel versions of your truck have the 3.42 gear ratio and the 3.73 is for versions with the Hemi. So based on the other factors mentioned it looks like your capacity is 17,370 lbs total trailer weight.
So to use the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30928 that you referenced you just need a rail kit like the Reese Custom Rail Kit # RP50054-58 and you'd be set.
