How do I know which models of the MPV van had ground effects? I have a 2000 LX model.

From what I could find it appears that models that do have the ground effects will have a trim piece at the bottom of the rear bumper that also wraps around to the sides of the vehicle. I included a picture with an arrow pointing to the area in question next to a van that does not have that trim piece. However, I do recommend contacting a Mazda dealer and have them run the VIN number and they can tell you what options came with the van.
The hitch # C12288 will work on you MPV Van whether it has ground effects or not. If plan on doing some towing, I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball set, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And for trailer wiring use # 56010. I have linked instructions for each hitch and for the wiring.
