Will I need to thread anything in the frame before I bolt the trailer hitch on? If so what kind do I need.

You won't need to fish any fasteners into the vehicle frame to install the Draw-Tite # 24812 Class I hitch on a 2009 Pontiac Vibe. The vehicle frame member has nuts already welded into place to accept the 6 M12 x 1.25 installation bolts, so the install is pretty simple.
If you live in a portion of the country where snow and ice melting chemicals are used on the pavement during the winter, you could have some road crud and corrosion built up in the nuts welded to the frame. If that's the case, spray each hole down with a spray lubricant like WD-40 and give the threads a good scrubbing with the wire brush from a battery terminal cleaner like # DW00254. You may need to do this several times in order to get the bolts to start.
I've linked to an installation video that you might find helpful.
