Adjustability of Stromberg Carlson Extend-A-Shower Curtain Rod

Question:

We have broken glass walls and doors on our shower. See the picture attached. Can the shower Rod be adjusted so that the middle section is only about 14 inches long?

The Stromberg Carlson Extend-A-Shower Curtain Rod, # EXT-5460C, is designed with 3 hinged sections providing two pivot points for adjusting its positioning. Unfortunately the mid section is not adjustable for length.
