Can this product be installed in reverse to shorten length of truck and trailer?

I reached out to my contact at Gen-Y Hitch and the Gen-Y Spartan Shock Absorbing Gooseneck Coupler - 5" Offset 2-5/16" Recessed Ball 3.5K TW # 325-GH-7001 you were looking at can absolutely be used in the reversed position so that the trailer is 5" closer to your truck.
You will want to make sure that doing this does not cause any trailer to cab interference issues.
