Even though the License plate on your 2006 Hummer H3 is on the driver side of your vehicle, the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 would still work though you would not be seeing perfectly behind you.

For a system that will allow you to mount the camera directly in the center of your vehicle I recommend taking a look at the # RVS-770613-NM as the camera does not mount to your license plate and can be mounted wherever you need to get the camera lined up to your liking, though it is not a low-profile of a camera as the # HM50002.
