The Convert-A-Ball Non-Cushioned Gooseneck Trailer Coupler with 7-1/2 inch Offset, part # CAB-GX-12, is designed to be a replacement coupler for any standard gooseneck trailer. The tube is 4 inches around and should install with set screws already present on your trailer. Is the diameter of the current coupler on your trailer 4 inches? If so, this coupler should fit. The wire next to the coupler is provided as a means of releasing the coupler while standing outside the bed of your pick-up truck. It will hook around the release lever on the coupler, and then you can tug on the end of the wire to release the coupler.
