Your 1990 Toyota 4Runner can be fitted with a number of different side step products, but not this particular one. I have included a link to our product page for all suitable steps for your 1990 4Runner. You have several options for sizes, materials and colors.
If you are interested in a 17-inch aluminum step (like the part # CARR124874-1 you were looking at) you can instead consider part # CARR124034. This part is a pair of two silver-finish cast aluminum alloy steps that comes complete with all required steel mounting hardware. I have included the installation instructions so you can review them.
Installation requires a drill; several sizes of drill bits; Phillips screwdriver, center punch and a pair of 1/2-inch and 7/16-inch wrenches. Note that the instructions cover the install process for several vehicles; you need to concern yourself only with diagram B which relates to your 1990 4Runner.
