Trying to Install Bestop Supertop, Part # 76302 on 2004 Ranger, and Cannot Get J Clips Attached

I am installing this on a 04 Ford Ranger and am struggling with the windows the J clip system is driving me nuts! I can get them about halfway threaded onto the track and then cant get them pulled the rest of the way.

That portion of the installation of Bestop Supertop, part # B76302, can be challenging, as the windows are meant to fit tightly. I have spoken with one of our contacts at Bestop, and they recommend that you make sure you are installing this on a warm day, preferably out in the sun. Cool temperatures can make the whole top contract, making everything tighter than usual. Your best bet for guiding the J hooks into place would be to use a plastic putty knife to guide it into place. Get the hook started onto the track on one side, then slide the putty knife in between the hook and the track. As you work across the opening, slide the putty knife along as you go.
