Question:
I have a 2003 Mazda MPV. What is ground effects? I have no idea if my van has it or not.

It is a bit confusing since there isn't any detailed info from Curt that explains it, but I can help you out. Ground effects for your 2003 Mazda MPV van are an additional trim package, and if you take a look at the accompanying photo, you can see an MPV with that trim package. You can compare your bumper to the one in the photo, or you can call a local Mazda dealer with your VIN and they will be able to tell you what is on your van.
There is a hitch option for your 2003 Mazda MPV if you have the ground effects trim or not:
