Question:

I am installing trailer lights to connect to a standard 4 pin plug. I am looking for a converter that I can install on the trailer to give independent brake and turn lighting. Most of the converters that I see are to be installed on the vehicle side. I want to have independent brake and turn lighting with the trailer only using a standard 4 pin flat plug.

On standard trailer wiring the right and left wires run as a combined signal. So the brake and turn signal for one side will be combined and the bulb itself acts as a brake and turn signal depending on the signal current.
