Do Gooseneck Hitch to 5th Wheel Pin Box Adapters Have Warranty Implications

Would the Gen-Y torsion flex fifth wheel to gooseneck hitch void Grand Design warranty? Thank you

I spoke with the folks at Gen-Y hitch regarding your question about their # GY66FR Shock Absorbing 5th wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box.

I'm told that although the pin box isn't Lippert approved yet, that will happen soon. Lippert is currently testing this product in order to give it their 'stamp of approval', but the process has been delayed by the Covid situation. My Gen-Y rep went on to tell me that the Customer Service folks at Lippert will routinely recommend the # GY66FR to people whose frame warranty is already expired (typically one year).

If you're looking for an approved option that you could use right now, the Reese Goose Box is Lippert approved and wouldn't have any warranty implications. Reese offers 3 different Goose Box models:

• Part # RP94720 has a 20K capacity, and replaces the Lippert 1621, 1621HD and 0719 OEM Pin Boxes
• Part # RP94716 has a 16K capacity, and replaces the same pin boxes mentioned above in addition to the
Fabex PB-600.
• Part # RP94716-61301 has a 16K capacity and replaces the Lippert 0115, 1116 and 1716.
