Recommended Spare Tire Lock for Trailer

I have a boat trailer and want to secure the spare tire which does not have lug nuts, but does take 4 size 3/4” bolts. Wont this work the same way if I run the bolt through the lock first before putting it thru the lug hole then putting the keyed portion in place after tightening the bolts?

The Spare Tire Lock # FSTL0603 only fits lugs up to 9/16 inch. The 3/4 inch you referenced will be too large. To lock the spare you will leave one of the bolt off and then use the etrailer Spare Tire Lock for 1/4" to 7/8" Thick Rims - Keyed Alike # e98892 thru the carrier and the wheel. The lock stud diameter will be 1/2 inch and yet the ability to tighten and lock will not be an issue with the other bolts in place.
