I have a 2012 dodge 3500 mega cab with the short box! Am looking at the companion but am worried about forgetting to slide it when I park. Would this gen y work on my 2010 keystone raptor and this truck which I have the b and w turn over ball in the bed and not have to worry about the slide? Thanks you!

The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box part # GY58GR is designed for use with long bed trucks, it would be no different than using a standard pin box with fixed fifth wheel hitch in regards to turning clearance. In regards to compatibility, it's designed to replace a Lippert 1621 so if this is what you have on the trailer now it will work fine but I can't look this up for you.
The best option would be to use a sliding 5th wheel, the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3400-5W. The slider only needs to be engaged when making sharp turns.
