Is There a Replacement Wheel for Older A-Frame Bulldog Rack and Post Jack

Published 09/30/2020

Question:

I need a replacement jack wheel for a 1984 horse trailer that has a Bulldog Rack and Post jack. The tube outside diameter is 1.625. Everything appears to work well except for the missing wheel. Do I need to buy BD018006, or would just the wheel BD018507 work? Thank you.

The wheel you mentioned is for a smaller diameter tube, so while that won't work, it is possible you can use the Bulldog Rack-and-Post Assembly with Steel Wheel for Rack-and-Gear Jack # BD018006.

That is dependent on the model of jack you have, which I'm not quite sure of. That assembly will only fit with the Bulldog Rack-and-Gear Jack BD161300 (the discontinued weld-on version), BD162300 (the side mounted bolt-on version) or the BD165311 (the discontinued A-frame version).

It looks like you have the A-frame version so if it's the same model then it would work. Otherwise, the best we can offer is a new A-frame jack such as the Bulldog Heavy-Duty, Rack-and-Gear Jack with Steel Wheel - A-Frame # BD165411.

I have added a link to our selection of A-frame jacks as well if the assembly won't work for you.

It does clear things up thank you. We do have the correct replacement rack and post assembly for a Bulldog Model 160, with the caveat being this does not come with a wheel, but a footplate. The correct part is the Bulldog Rack-and-Post Assembly with Footplate for Rack-and-Gear Jack # BD018520. Bulldog has confirmed for us this is the correct replacement for a Model 160, and indeed it has the same 1.6" diameter as your jack.
