Question:
i have a 1999 gmc yukon denali. i would like to install a new 7 prong adapter to the truck because the factory one is old and has broken prongs. i dont know which wire does what and im not too mechanically inclined to be able to find out without a diagram . is there a diagram that i can reference to? my boat trailer ill be hauling has a 4 way connector so i bought a 7 prong plug in with a four way attachment built on. i hope i gave enough information. any help would be greatly appreciated.

We do have a diagram of the typical 7-Way pin-out that will be on your 1999 GMC Yukon Denali. I have included a picture for you and a link to a wiring FAQ that will be helpful. The picture and the FAQ mention function and color. however, you cannot go by color because of the vast differences among manufacturers. So, you will need to go by function by testing the wires with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed to get the correct functions before attaching them to the back of the 7-Way.
