Comparing Roof Rack Cargo Boxes Malone Profile 18b and Yakima Skybox

Question:

Good morning. Were getting a 17 ot 18 cu ft cargo box for occasional trips maybe 1 to 2 per year in our 2019 Subaru Ascent. Can you please advise which of these you would recommend? I had identified the Malone Profile 18b or Sportrack Horizon SR7017. Thank you!

Both of the cargo boxes you mentioned are solid choices but I would recommend the Malone Profile 18b part # MPG911 over the Yakima SkyBox # Y07336 if for no other reason than it will save you some money. Both boxes are very similar and both use a simple clamp design for an easy install.

Check out the review video links I attached for both boxes and see if there are any features of the Yakima that would justify the cost difference for you.
