How to Pick Flush Bar or Through Bar Rhino Rack Roof Rack for 2020 Honda Pilot

Dear e-trailer experts I am interested in purchasing the RR73XR 47inch crossbars in my 2020 Honda Pilot. However, i wonder why the majority of customers decide to install options with crossbars that are longer 54inch or 60. Beside the additional space for mounting, is there any other functional or technical reason to go with a longer crossbar instead of the aesthetically appealing 47inch crossbar kit? Many thanks!

If you prefer the OEM flush bar look the shorter Rhino-Rack ROC25 Roof Rack for Naked Roofs # RR73XR is what you need. If you need a wider bar setup like if you are carrying more than one kayak or a few bike racks I'd go with the through bar Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK444 instead. The choice comes down to how much bar space will you need basically.
