Question:
Generator wouldnt start. Finally got it to start, barely, but it just putts along for a minute without really reving up then dies. Would generate power when it is running, well, barely running

It sounds like your vent cap is still closed and the fuel tank isn't able to vent which is choking it when running. Turn the air vent knob to ON and then attempt to start it.
