What is the difference between item # RFMPC2 and item # RFMPC? My impression is that # RFMPC2 may have more flexibility to pivot to accomodate curve of roof, is this true? What are any other differences?

The part # RFMPC2 is the successor and eventual replacement to the part # RFMPC that you referenced. It's basically a simpler and easier to install design that's a little smaller and overall better looking if you ask me.
