Weight Distribution Recommendation for my 7100 lb. Jayco Camper

Question:

hello i have a 2015 sierra 1500 with a 9200lb tow rating. I. Buying a jayco camper thats 7100lbs im looking for a good weight distribution/ sway setup. The dealer is trying to sell me on the easy lift trekker. Do you have a better option or is that a good setup?

Assuming you have the standard or recommended 10-15% of your campers weight as tongue weight that will put you in the 710 to 1065 pounds of tongue weight. so we can use that and add 100 lbs. to it to cover anything you load behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle so we need to be in the range of 810-1165 lbs. for the system we choose.

In this range my favorite is the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control part # RP66084. This takes care of the weight distribution and sway control. This is the system I use on my camper and I really like the way it works and once installed it is quick and easy to setup to get on the road.
