I have a 16 dodge journey with LED taillights. I understand it requires the wiring harness with the module and connection to the battery, is that also the case if the trailer has LED taillights as well? Thanks in advance.

For your 2016 Dodge Journey with LED taillights you do need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118536.
This is also the case if your trailer has LED lights, as that won't affect the wiring harness you need on your Journey. Additionally, if you need a trailer hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98845.
This hitch is a bolt-on installation with no drilling required and has a nice black matte finish which will hide any minor scratches or wear better than other options with glossy finishes.
