5th Wheel Base Rails and Installation Brackets for 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

Hi jacker hitch double pivot purchased in 2007. Need mounting rail kit, what do I need to have for a 2004 Dodge Ram pickup 1/2 ton short bed 6.5’ , it came out of a 2010 Ford F-250 shot bed truck also, purchase hitch only no rails.

So long as your 5th wheel hitch installs on industry-standard above-bed base rails, there are a couple of options for 5th wheel base rails and installation kits that fit your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500.

One of the kits is a custom option that does not require drilling into your truck's frame rails, which is not only good for your truck but also saves you installation time. The other kit is a semi-custom option which does require drilling into your Ram's frame rails but is a less expensive kit.

Additionally, for a 5th wheel wiring harness, so long as your 2004 Ram has the factory 7-way, you'll need the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # HM42137
