Are Trailer Taillight Converters Waterproof
Updated 06/05/2020 | Published 06/03/2020 >
Question:
I just received this and Im wondering if the housing is waterproof? It looks like it has small holes in the housing. I intend on using this for a motorcycle tow behind trailer so it would be exposed to the elements. Thanks.

Taillight converters such as the Hopkins # HM48847 would be installed in a an area where the are at least semi-protected from water, so the occasional splash won't harm them but they aren't meant to be fully exposed to a downpour or submerged. Installing the converter so that the box is in a protected or semi-protected area like under the seat or within a saddlebag is recommended for a installation like yours.
